Ricin-Maker Sentenced to Five Years Probation

A Washington state man charged with possession of a biological toxin for preparing ricin in his apartment was sentenced Friday in federal court to five years probation, the Associated Press reported (see GSN, April 14, 2004). Robert Alberg, 37, was arrested in April and had faced up to 10 years in prison. As part of a plea agreement, he admitted making the poison, according to AP (Associated Press, Jan. 8).
