Description: The facility used the lost wax gravity casting process ("investment casting") to produce, among other parts for Iraq's LPE missiles, turbine blades, turbine disks, elbow pipes, flanges, gyro gimbals, and gyro bases. This production was supplied primarily to the Karama State Establishment. The site contained six main workshops—waxing, shelling, de-waxing, etc.—as well as a storage and support buildings. Some 90 percent of the parts manufactured at the site were for civilian use (irrigation, textiles, and others); military work was intermittent. The site employed some 300-400 workers, with only a small percentage being qualified professionals, such as engineers and chemists.
