Kanggamch’an around 1985 and in early 1990 respectively. The geographical locations of Mt. Kanggamch’an and the Kanep’o Fisheries Cooperatives have not been confirmed. The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) has tentatively placed this facility in the Kangnam mountain range near the Sakchu chemical weapons production facility in North P’yŏng’an Province. However, the South Korean Ministry of Unification has indicated that North Koreans could sometimes use geographic names such as “Kanggamchan-san” that are different from official government names.
