Abalone Alliance

The Abalone Alliance is a non-governmental activist organization and was formed in May of 1977 when 70 activists from across California came together over concern about Pacific Gas and Electric's (PG+E) plans to build and operate the Diablo Canyon nuclear facility near San Luis Obispo. The main goal of the organization is to oppose nuclear power through direct action and education. Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND)

Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is a part of Abolition 2000 which is an international global network working for a treaty to eliminate nuclear weapons within a time-bound framework. CND is a U.K. organization and has been established in 1958 with the purpose of campaigning non-violently to rid the world of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction and to create genuine security for future generations. The site provides an unbiased and balanced but rather superficial presentation of contemporary and historical issues. The issues are grouped according to fields of study, for example, history, contemprary studies, life science, physical science and technology.
