A) The NPT does not prohibit the deployment of nuclear weapons belonging to the
nuclear weapon states while NWFZ treaties prohibit deployment of any nuclear
weapons inside the zones.
B) The NPT does not contain a specific provision to assure non-nuclear weapon
states against the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons, but all the existing
NWFZ treaties automatically obligate the nuclear weapon states not to use or
threaten the use of nuclear weapons against state parties to the NWFZ treaties
immediately after the entry into force of the treaties.
C) The NPT obligates all non-nuclear weapon states to accept the IAEA
safeguards system while NWFZ treaties require safeguards on a voluntary basis.
D) The NPT promotes the peaceful use of nuclear energy while all existing NWFZ
treaties prohibit both civilian and military use of nuclear energy.
