Statement from NTI on the Passing of Pete Domenici

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founding Board Member Pete Domenici.  Senator Domenici was an outstanding leader in the United States Senate, and in his post-Senate career, he continued to work on the issues important to New Mexico, our nation and the world.

“From his early support of the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction program and the U.S.-Russia lab-to-lab program to his work in launching the Highly Enriched Uranium Purchase Agreement, Senator Domenici was a strong and effective leader in reducing global nuclear dangers.  Our thoughts are with his wife Nancy and his entire family during this difficult time.”
